Winnifred Mawudeku, Director of the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, has confirmed that Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku is her brother. Speaking in an interview with Sporty FM on October 29, 2026, she said management has been her profession for most of her career and that she has never worked professionally with her brother.

Mawudeku said Kurt Okraku played no role in her appointment as director of the facility. She added that many people were unaware of their sibling relationship because she does not use his surname.

"The GFA President [Kurt Okraku] is my brother, but our paths never crossed professionally. He is always into football, and I'm into management. He never played any role in me getting this job. I don't even use the surname Okraku. The name on my certificate is Winnifred Mawudeku," she said.

Mawudeku also described the state of the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence when she took over as director, saying she has been working to improve the facility.

"The Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence was dead before I arrived as director. From the outside, it looked dead, but coming in, I realised that it was even more compromised," she noted.
