Turkey have sacked national team coach Vincenzo Montella, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced on Friday. In a statement, the federation said its executive board had decided not to continue with the Italian coach, though it did not give a reason for the decision or name a replacement.
Montella took charge of Turkey in September 2023 and led the team to the quarter-finals of the 2024 European Championship.
The decision comes after four consecutive defeats for Turkey in the UEFA Nations League, including a 3-1 loss to Italy earlier in the week. Turkey were also eliminated in the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.
