Emily Fox has signed a new contract with Arsenal, the club confirmed in a press release on Thursday. The USWNT right-back, 28, has agreed to extend her stay at the Emirates, though the exact length of the deal wasn't specified by Arsenal. According to sources briefed on the situation, speaking on condition of anonymity, the new contract runs for three years.
Fox joined Arsenal in January 2024 from NWSL side North Carolina Courage on a multi-year deal. The length of that original contract was never made public, but it was expected to run out in the coming months, making this new agreement a timely bit of business for the club.
Since arriving in north London, Fox has made 93 appearances across all competitions for Arsenal, scoring three goals. She has been central to a trophy-laden spell for the club, helping them win the 2023-24 League Cup and the 2024-25 Champions League. She also played a part in Arsenal's 3-2 win over Corinthians in the inaugural FIFA Women's Champions Cup last season.
On the international stage, Fox has been a mainstay for the USWNT since making her debut in 2018, contributing to the team's gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games and their CONCACAF Gold Cup triumph.

Locking Fox down for the future adds to the considerable depth already available to head coach Renee Slegers in the WSL. Fox has built a reputation as one of the most reliable right-backs in the women's game, combining athleticism and vision going forward with sharp one-on-one defending.
Her performances have been recognised with selections to the PFA Women's Super League and UEFA Women's Champions League Teams of the Year in both of her full seasons at the club, along with a 2025 Ballon d'Or nomination.
With Arsenal competing across multiple competitions, having options at full-back matters. The club can call on 19-year-old Smilla Holmberg, Spain international Ona Batlle (a natural right-back currently playing on the left) and France international Elisa de Almeida (a centre-back who can cover on the right), but Fox remains a first-choice pick, having played every minute of Arsenal's WSL campaign so far this season.
With the Women's World Cup coming up next summer, that level of consistency at club level will matter for USWNT head coach Emma Hayes as she builds her squad.
