Mauricio Pochettino's USMNT has received a favorable change ahead of its Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal against Haiti. Concacaf announced Thursday that the first leg, originally set for Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica, will now be played at Nu Stadium in Miami, with Haiti still designated as the home team.
The switch means the United States will no longer need to travel to Jamaica for the opening leg. Instead, the team will head to Miami before returning to Cincinnati for the second leg.
Concacaf explained that its Council approved an exceptional hosting arrangement for the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) because of the ongoing security situation in Haiti. The decision came after the FHF submitted a formal request to the Concacaf Administration, which was then referred to the Council for consideration.
Under the arrangement, the FHF may play its designated home matches in Concacaf-sanctioned competitions in the territory of its opponents, rather than being restricted to hosting within the Caribbean region as current regulations require. Concacaf said this flexibility will remain in place for as long as the security situation in Haiti persists.
However, each individual match will still require separate approval from the Concacaf Administration, agreement from the opposing member association, and confirmation that the chosen stadium meets Concacaf's stadium guidelines. Concacaf noted that this Haiti-specific measure will also extend to Haitian clubs and remains subject to ongoing review, meaning it could be amended or withdrawn by the Council at any time.
Concacaf confirmed that the application of the exceptional arrangement has been approved specifically for Haiti's home-designated match against the United States in the quarterfinals of the 2026/27 Concacaf Nations League. The match, originally scheduled for Saturday, November 14 at Sabina Park, will now be played at Nu Stadium in Miami, Florida, with kickoff set for 4:30 pm ET local time.
