The Southeastern Conference announced on Monday that No. 16 Texas soccer's Mya Brandon has been named SEC Offensive Player of the Week.
The honor comes after Brandon, a sophomore from Canton, Michigan, scored her first goal in a Texas uniform late last week. It was also the program's first point in SEC play under head coach Margueritte Bates. Brandon didn't stop there, setting up Ashlyn Anderson's go-ahead goal in the same match.
Despite the strong individual showing, Texas couldn't hold on for the win, with the match against Tennessee finishing in a 2-2 draw.
Brandon becomes the second Longhorn to pick up an SEC weekly award in 2026, a sign that Texas is starting to find some individual bright spots even as results in conference play remain a work in progress.
