Harry Kane and Anthony Elanga Are Wearing Skechers at the World Cup — and They're Not Apologising for It.

"When Skechers came into football, a lot of people raised an eyebrow," Anthony Elanga admitted. "And I think that's exactly what made it exciting." That's a pretty clean summary of where the brand stands heading into 2026 — still the underdog on the boot rack, but now with England's captain and a first World Cup to prove themselves on the biggest stage in football.

Harry Kane and Elanga are headlining the new Skechers Sunset Pack, a two-boot collection designed for North America's World Cup and built around the aesthetic of Los Angeles — one of the host cities and the location of Skechers' global HQ. Kane takes the SKX_2 Elite, Elanga the Razor 2. Turkey's Baris Alper Yilmaz rounds out the trio.

What the boots actually are

The Sunset Pack is hard to miss. Both boots carry a gradient of orange, pink, and deep purple — a direct nod to the LA evening sky. The SKX_2 Elite, which Kane has already been wearing in matches, is built around strike control and fit. The Razor 2 is geared toward wide players, which suits Elanga's role on the wing.

The campaign extends beyond the three players. Ghana's Mohammed Kudus features, as do Jamie Redknapp, Ruud Gullit, and Frank Leboeuf. The concept — a "Skechers Motel" with Americana roadside styling — leans into the US setting with enough self-awareness to avoid feeling forced.

Kane was first. He became the first professional footballer to sign with Skechers when the brand entered football in 2023, a move that raised questions at the time. Two years later, he's heading into his third World Cup in them. "At a tournament as big as the World Cup, you need to know you are going into it feeling good with a boot that you can trust," he said. "And I feel exactly like that."

Elanga's first World Cup, Sweden's statement

For Elanga, this is entirely new territory. A debut World Cup, a new version of his boot, and a brand still fighting for credibility against Nike and Adidas. "To those who underestimated them? The pitch doesn't lie," he said. That's either the line of a true believer or someone who's been very well briefed. Either way, it lands.

Whether Skechers can genuinely compete at the top level is a question the tournament will answer more honestly than any campaign film. Having Kane score goals in them would do more for the brand than any Americana motel concept ever could. England's odds of winning the World Cup make that a long shot — but Kane performing, even in a losing cause, keeps the boots in the conversation throughout.

"This marks the very first time the brand will have players wearing its boots on the World Cup stage," Kane said. For Skechers, that's the whole point of 2026.
