Alexia Putellas is still the best women's player in EA FC 27 — 91 overall, no debate. What's changed is everything around her. After completing her move from Barcelona to London City Lionesses this summer, La Reina arrives in the WSL carrying the highest rating in women's football and, presumably, the expectations to match.
Behind her, the picture is more crowded than last year. Aitana Bonmati dropped one point to 90, which would have kept her comfortably in second — except Khadija Shaw matched her. The Manchester City and Jamaica striker now sits level with Putellas' former Barcelona teammate, which tells you something about how Shaw's last 18 months have been received. Two very different players, one number.
Chawinga leads the NWSL, but Banda is the one to watch right now
Temwa Chawinga is the top-rated NWSL player in the game, and the Kansas City Current forward has earned it — nine goals in 11 matches this season, plus helping Malawi qualify for their first-ever Women's World Cup. That combination of club form and international history-making is exactly the kind of thing that moves a rating needle.
Barbra Banda, currently leading the NWSL in scoring, comes in at 88 overall alongside Haiti's Melchie Dumornay. If EA were rating on current-season form alone, Banda might have a legitimate case for a higher number. Something to watch when next year's ratings drop.
The top-ranked American is Portland Thorns forward Sophia Wilson at 88, which puts her at 14th overall — one of eight players sharing that rating. For a nation that's spent decades dominating the women's game, 14th is a data point worth sitting with.
The biggest movers in the top tier
Two players saw their ratings jump three full points — Man City midfielder Yui Hasegawa and Chelsea goalkeeper Hannah Hampton. Three points is a meaningful climb at this level, where the difference between 85 and 88 can shift a player's entire viability in-game. Both will be considerably more useful in Ultimate Team squads than they were in FC 26.
EA FC 27 releases September 25, with early access from September 18. Full league ratings will roll out through the week.
