Boston Legacy have unveiled Super Falcons forward Gift Monday after completing her reported record $500,000 transfer from Washington Spirit. The club announced the signing through its social media platforms.

Monday has signed a five-year contract that will keep her at the National Women's Soccer League club until December 2030, and she will wear the number 22 shirt.

The 24-year-old Nigerian international's move follows an October 8 announcement that Boston Legacy had agreed a deal with Washington Spirit. The transfer is worth $500,000 in transfer threshold funds, while Washington Spirit also secured a 20 per cent sell-on clause.

Monday joined Washington Spirit from Spanish side UD Tenerife in March 2025 and quickly became a key attacking option. She made her debut on April 12, 2025, coming off the bench in a 2-0 win over Racing Louisville. A week later, she made her first start and scored the winner in a 1-0 victory over league leaders Orlando Pride.

On September 28, she scored a hat-trick inside the opening 36 minutes of a 4-0 win over Houston Dash, setting a new league record for the fastest hat-trick from kickoff. She left Washington Spirit with 12 goals and three assists in 48 appearances across all competitions.

Before moving abroad, the forward played in the Nigerian Women's Football League for COD United Amazons, FC Robo and Bayelsa Queens. She won the 2021/22 league title with Bayelsa Queens and finished that season as the top scorer, form that earned her a move to Tenerife in September 2022.
