Ronaldo Wants Casemiro in Saudi Arabia — But Messi and Inter Miami Are in the Way.

Casemiro is leaving Manchester United at the end of the season, and the scramble to sign him has turned into one of the more bizarre transfer stories of the year: Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are both trying to land the same midfielder.

Ronaldo has reportedly gone directly to his former Real Madrid and United teammate, making a personal pitch for Casemiro to join him in Saudi Arabia. The logic is obvious — Casemiro was the engine in midfield during their Champions League years together, and whatever Ronaldo's project in the Gulf is trying to become, a battle-hardened defensive midfielder with elite pedigree would accelerate it considerably.

Inter Miami are the real competition

The Saudi offer may be lucrative, but Inter Miami have reportedly done their homework. The David Beckham-backed club sees Casemiro as the direct replacement for Sergio Busquets, the World Cup 2026 timeline aligns, and Casemiro has allegedly already visited the facilities and met with the board in person. That's not casual interest — that's a deal in progress.

The Messi angle adds a layer of intrigue that the Saudi route simply can't match. Casemiro and Messi were rivals for the better part of a decade. Sharing a dressing room in South Florida would be one of football's stranger third acts.

From a betting perspective, Inter Miami's roster ambitions have consistently pushed their MLS odds around, and adding a player of Casemiro's calibre — still capable at the highest level when fit — would make them a legitimate title threat rather than just a marquee draw.

What United lose

For all the criticism Casemiro attracted during a difficult United spell, his departure leaves a real gap. He averaged more than two tackles and interceptions per 90 during his better form — Old Trafford doesn't have a ready-made replacement, and whoever comes in will need time to adjust.

The decision now comes down to Casemiro's priorities: one last serious payday in Saudi, or an MLS chapter that puts him back alongside the most decorated player in football history. Ronaldo is making his case. The evidence suggests Miami is already winning the argument.
