"This agreement reflects the very special relationship we've built over the years," said Florentino Pérez. He's not wrong — but he's also underselling it. Real Madrid have just locked in a shirt sponsorship worth close to €100 million per season, making them the highest-earning club in the world from a single jersey deal.

The renewed partnership with Emirates runs through 2031. When it ends, the two will have been together for two decades. That's not a partnership anymore — that's an institution.

What €100 million per year actually means

The previous deal paid Madrid somewhere between €70 and €80 million a season. The new one pushes that to roughly €100 million — around $108 million. That's a jump of at least €20 million annually, and it lands Madrid ahead of every other club on earth when it comes to shirt revenue.

To put that in context: most top European clubs would consider €50 million a strong shirt deal. Madrid are doubling that.

Emirates first came on board in 2011 and took over the shirt in 2013. This extension makes "Fly Emirates" the longest-running jersey sponsor in LaLiga history — a record that will only grow as the deal runs its course. From a commercial positioning standpoint, Madrid's financial gap over their domestic rivals just got wider. LaLiga title odds are partly built on squad depth, and squad depth is built on revenue streams like this one.

Beyond the men's team

The deal covers the women's team, the basketball division, and all youth categories. Emirates branding runs through the entire Real Madrid operation, not just the Bernabéu on a Saturday night. That kind of cross-platform exposure is exactly what a global airline is buying — and Madrid is exactly the vehicle to sell it.

Boutros Boutros, Emirates' Executive VP of Corporate Communications, framed it around fans and communities. The commercial reality is simpler: this is the most recognisable club on the planet, and €100 million a year is the price of staying on their shirt.
