A huge transfer battle is brewing this summer, and it's going to be fascinating to watch. Liverpool and Manchester United are both chasing Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram, and it could get expensive. We're talking about a potential €75m asking price from the Italian giants.

If you're wondering why the name sounds familiar, there's a good reason. Thuram comes from proper football royalty. His dad is former France legend Lilian Thuram, and his brother Marcus bangs in goals for Inter Milan. Football really does run in the family.

The 25-year-old midfielder moved to Juventus from Nice last summer for just €20.6m. That's looking like brilliant business from Juve right now. In less than a year, his value has potentially more than tripled.

Why Premier League Giants Want Him

Thuram has been quietly impressive in Turin this season. He's racked up two goals and four assists in 35 games across all competitions. But it's not just about the numbers – it's how he's performing that's caught everyone's attention.

According to reports from Caught Offside, both Premier League clubs see him filling different needs. Manchester United view him as the perfect replacement for the aging Casemiro, who's clearly past his prime. Liverpool, meanwhile, want someone who can add more muscle and physicality to their midfield engine room.

Arsenal are also sniffing around, though they seem to be taking more of a watching brief at this stage. With Thuram's contract running until 2029, Juventus are in no rush to sell unless the price is right.

The Transfer Price Tag

Here's where it gets interesting for the clubs involved. Initial proposals around €45m plus add-ons have reportedly been floated. But Juventus aren't playing ball at that price. They're holding firm on a valuation between €65m and €75m including bonuses.

For punters keeping an eye on summer transfer markets, this one could go down to the wire. Both Liverpool and United have the financial muscle to make this happen, but which club needs him more? United's midfield desperately needs refreshing, which might give them extra motivation to get the deal done.

Whichever club lands Thuram will be getting a midfielder entering his prime years with plenty of room to grow. At 25, he's got his best years ahead of him. The question is: who'll win the race for his signature?
