Klopp Turned Down Man Utd and Chelsea Moves After Liverpool Exit.

Here's something that'll blow your mind. Jurgen Klopp could've managed Manchester United or Chelsea after leaving Liverpool. Yeah, you read that right - the man who gave Liverpool fans some of their best memories in decades was approached by their biggest rivals.

According to his agent Marc Kosicke, both Premier League giants came knocking on Klopp's door after he left Anfield. But the German gaffer said thanks, but no thanks. Instead of jumping straight into another club job, he took some time off before eventually joining Red Bull as their Head of Global Soccer.

Can you imagine Klopp in the United dugout at Old Trafford? Or pacing the touchline at Stamford Bridge? Liverpool fans are probably breathing a huge sigh of relief right now. The thought of their beloved manager crossing over to a rival would've been absolutely gut-wrenching.

Why Klopp Walked Away From Liverpool

Klopp didn't leave Liverpool because things went wrong. Far from it. He delivered the Champions League trophy in 2019 and ended that painful 30-year wait for a league title in 2019-20. He also won the FA Cup, League Cup, and Club World Cup during his incredible time with the Reds.

So why did he leave? In his own emotional words back in 2024, Klopp explained he was "running out of energy." He told the club in November but kept it quiet until he was ready to announce it publicly. The man loves Liverpool - the club, the city, the fans, everything. But he knew he couldn't keep doing the job at the level required.

"I love absolutely everything about this club," Klopp said at the time. "But that I still take this decision shows you that I am convinced it is the one I have to take." It was a classy exit from a class act.

What This Means for the Big Clubs

For United and Chelsea, missing out on Klopp was a massive blow. Both clubs have struggled for consistency in recent years, and a manager of Klopp's caliber could've transformed their fortunes. If you're betting on either team's success this season, you're doing so without one of the best managers in world football.

Liverpool dodged a bullet too. Imagine the psychological impact if Klopp had rocked up at Old Trafford or the Bridge. The odds on Liverpool maintaining their competitive edge would've taken a serious hit with their former boss plotting against them from a rival dugout.

Klopp's decision to step away from club management entirely shows he meant what he said about needing a break. His move to Red Bull is different - it's a behind-the-scenes role overseeing multiple clubs rather than the day-to-day intensity of managing one team. For now at least, Premier League clubs will have to make do without him on the touchline.
