The presentation took place at Inter Miami's training complex in Fort Lauderdale, where Beckham, now co-owner of the MLS club, welcomed Thomas Tuchel's squad for their final session ahead of the last-eight tie. Kane, who has surpassed Beckham's cap tally during this tournament, made the presentation in person. Two men from Chingford, East London — both attended Chingford Foundation School, both started out at Ridgeway Rovers, both captained the national team — standing in a Miami facility built by one of them.
It was a good photo. But it also quietly underlined just how far Kane has come.
