NFL legend Tom Brady has hinted he might be attending Wrestlemania 41, adding another sporting venture to his growing portfolio beyond football. The seven-time Super Bowl champion recently traded American football for soccer when he visited London's iconic Wembley Stadium.
Brady was there to support Birmingham City, the club he's been a minority owner of since August 2023, in their EFL Trophy final. Despite his presence, the Blues couldn't pull off a victory, falling 2-0 to Peterborough after conceding two first-half goals from Harley Mills and Hector Kyprianou.
The defeat came just days after Birmingham had secured the League One title and promotion to the Championship. This success moves them just one tier below the prestigious Premier League, representing a significant achievement for the club and its famous investor.
From Wembley to Wrestling Ring?
Before the match, Brady addressed traveling Birmingham supporters with genuine enthusiasm. "Never did I imagine this, but I'm so glad we're here," he told the fans. "Being at Wembley is a dream come true for all of us. Thanks for your amazing support. Keep Right On."
Just days after his London appearance, Brady suggested he might be making yet another sporting crossover. When asked about attending Wrestlemania 41, Brady smiled and replied: "I may be there. It's amazing what's going on there and what's happening with WWE and all the different things surrounding that."
While he didn't specify what role he might play, NFL stars making WWE appearances isn't unprecedented. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes appeared on Monday Night Raw last April, while Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson participated in a tag-team match to help Rey Mysterio and Andrade secure a win.
Brady's Expanding Business Empire
The football icon's schedule remains packed with various ventures. On Friday, Brady attended the grand opening of his Card Vault store at the American Dream mall in New Jersey, adding to his business portfolio.
He's also two months into his new role as a color commentator for Fox Sports. Brady signed a massive 10-year deal worth $375 million with the broadcaster, replacing Greg Olsen as their top NFL analyst.
Despite his celebrity status, Brady's broadcasting debut didn't earn him an Emmy nomination. He was notably absent from the Outstanding Personality/Event Analyst category for the 2025 Sports Emmy Awards, while the man he replaced, Greg Olsen, received his fourth straight nomination.
For Birmingham City fans, having Brady as part owner brings valuable attention to the club. His global celebrity status could attract new sponsors and potentially help the team's finances as they prepare for life in the Championship next season.
The Blues will hope Brady's passionate support continues as they aim to establish themselves in England's second tier. With promotion secured but the EFL Trophy lost, Birmingham's season has been a rollercoaster of emotions for fans and their famous American owner alike.
