Football takes centre stage on tonight's local sports slate, with a full card of high school matchups kicking off across the region. Terre Haute North heads to Terre Haute South at 7 p.m., while West Vigo travels to Edgewood at the same time. Mt. Carmel makes the trip to Paris, Ill., and Linton is on the road at Vincennes Lincoln, both also starting at 7 p.m.
Marshall visits Robinson, Ill., for an 8 p.m. kickoff, and there's a busy 7 p.m. slate elsewhere too: North Knox at North Central, Northview at Owen Valley, Parke Heritage at Seeger, North Vermillion at Riverton Parke, Covington at South Vermillion, and South Putnam at Sullivan.
Golf, Soccer and Volleyball Fixtures
On the girls golf side, it's sectional time. Barr-Reeve, Linton, North Daviess, North Knox, Pike Central, Princeton Community, Shakamak, South Knox, Sullivan, Vincennes Lincoln, Vincennes Rivet and Washington all tee off in the North Knox Sectional at High Pointe Country Club, starting at 11 a.m.
In college women's soccer, Spalding is set to face Rose-Hulman at 5 p.m.
Volleyball fills out the rest of the day's calendar. At the Purdue-Fort Wayne Invitational, Indiana State takes on Stonehill at 12:30 p.m. before facing Columbia at 4:30 p.m. Elsewhere, Calumet St. Joseph visits Saint Mary-of-the-Woods at 7 p.m., and Rose-Hulman squares off with Ohio Wesleyan at 5 p.m. as part of the Ohio Wesleyan Tournament.
On the high school volleyball front, Clay City heads to Bloomfield for a 6 p.m. match, while Mulberry Grove travels to Martinsville, Ill., for a 7 p.m. contest.
