Ghana's Black Stars Nominated for Men's National Team of the Year at 2026 CAF Awards.

Ghana have been nominated for the Men's National Team of the Year award at the 2026 CAF Awards, adding to the country's representation in this year's continental football honours.

The Black Stars are among the nominees for the prestigious award, which recognises the best-performing men's national team on the continent during the period under review.

The nomination comes after Ghana's participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the Black Stars advanced to the knockout stage before losing to Colombia in the Round of 32.

The Black Stars have a strong history in the category, having won the Men's National Team of the Year award in 2006 and 2010. Ghana were also nominated for the same award at the 2025 CAF Awards but did not win, with Morocco's U-20 team claiming the honour that year.

Ghana's women's team, the Black Queens, have also received recognition in this year's awards. Captain Portia Boakye was nominated for Women's Player of the Year, the Black Queens were nominated for Women's National Team of the Year, and goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan picked up a second consecutive nomination for Goalkeeper of the Year.

The 2026 CAF Awards ceremony is scheduled for December 7, 2026, in Lagos, Nigeria, where winners across the various categories will be announced.
