The celebration of PSG's Champions League semi-final win turned chaotic early Thursday morning when a car drove into a crowd of celebrating fans. The incident left at least three supporters injured, with one person seriously hurt following PSG's 2-1 victory over Arsenal.

According to police sources, a group of fans quickly chased down the vehicle after it ploughed into the crowd. The car was eventually cornered in a side street where it was set ablaze, creating a dramatic scene that was captured on video and widely shared on social media.

"The worse incident so far involved a car apparently being driven into a group of PSG fans," a local police source explained. "At least three supporters were injured, one seriously, and others were sent flying."

Riots and Arrests Follow PSG's Victory

The chaos wasn't limited to the car incident. Hooded youths in PSG shirts were reportedly fighting with riot police along the famous Champs Elysée and nearby streets. By 2am, authorities had arrested more than 20 people connected to the night's events.

French authorities had prepared for potential trouble, deploying an extra 2,000 police officers across Paris. About 2,000 Arsenal supporters had traveled for the match, with others watching from local bars and cafés.

The identities of those in the car remain unclear as the occupants fled the scene before they could be apprehended. There's no confirmation yet on their motives or whether they've been arrested.

Growing Problem of Football Violence in France

This incident highlights a concerning trend of football-related violence in France. In recent years, hooligan firms have increasingly associated themselves with top clubs, including PSG.

Earlier on match day, French police reportedly clashed with PSG supporters, using tear gas to disperse crowds. Videos circulating on social media showed fans covering their faces and washing their eyes after these confrontations.

The victory sends PSG to the Champions League final while ending Arsenal's impressive European campaign. But the celebration's violent aftermath casts a shadow over what should have been a triumphant night for the Parisian club.

For visiting fans, the night was particularly tense. Arsenal had previously warned their traveling supporters to remain vigilant during their Paris trip, following incidents involving other Premier League clubs' fans earlier in the tournament.

With PSG now advancing to the Champions League final, security concerns will likely be heightened for what should be European football's showcase event. The betting markets will certainly factor in PSG's home form and passionate support as they prepare for their final challenge.
