Osimhen Sets Sights on Manchester United Move Despite Higher Offers Elsewhere.

Victor Osimhen has reportedly made up his mind about his future, with Manchester United emerging as his preferred destination. The Nigerian striker appears ready to snub more lucrative offers from both Turkish giants Galatasaray and Saudi clubs to join the Red Devils ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The 26-year-old forward just wrapped up an impressive loan spell with Galatasaray where he truly shined. Osimhen netted an incredible 37 goals and provided 8 assists, helping the club secure both the Turkish Super League and Ziraat Cup titles. His outstanding performance earned him both the top scorer and best player awards in Turkey.

Despite his success in Turkey, Osimhen declined Galatasaray's generous four-year contract offer worth over €26 million per year. Even more surprisingly, he also turned down a mammoth €45 million per season proposal from Saudi club Al-Hilal.

United Move on the Horizon

According to Transfer News Live, Osimhen is keen to be part of Manchester United's new era under coach Ruben Amorim. The forward seems determined to help resurrect the struggling club that finished a disastrous 15th in the Premier League last season – their worst finish in 50 years.

What's particularly interesting is Osimhen's apparent willingness to take a significant pay cut to make the move happen. Reports suggest he's ready to accept around £200,000 weekly wages instead of the £300,000 the United board is reluctant to offer.

Napoli has reportedly lowered their asking price for the striker from an initial €130 million to approximately €75 million, as per his release clause for foreign clubs. This reduced fee might make the deal more attractive for United's decision-makers.

Mixed Opinions on the Potential Move

Not everyone is convinced Osimhen is the right fit for every club. Football journalist David Ornstein revealed on the Athletic FC Podcast that some Premier League clubs are hesitant due to his salary demands and character concerns. Ornstein specifically questioned whether Osimhen would thrive under a strict manager.

On the flip side, Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has publicly urged his former club to sign the Nigerian. Ferdinand believes Osimhen's experience is exactly what United's attack needs next season.

For betting enthusiasts, this transfer saga presents interesting opportunities. If Osimhen does join United, expect significant movement in the odds for United's performance next season. A proven goalscorer could dramatically improve their chances of climbing back up the table.

The striker's impressive track record in both Serie A and the Turkish Super League suggests he could adapt well to Premier League demands. However, joining a struggling United side rather than a Champions League contender represents a significant gamble for both player and club.
