Juventus fans can breathe easy - Igor Tudor is staying put! The club's new general manager Damien Comolli confirmed on Tuesday that Tudor will remain as head coach beyond just the Club World Cup.
"Tudor will be our coach for the next season and not only for the Club World Cup," Comolli announced in his first press conference. This puts to rest rumors that had clearly frustrated Tudor in recent weeks.
The Croatian coach earned his spot after guiding Juventus to fourth place and a crucial Champions League qualification. He secured five wins in nine Serie A games after taking over from Thiago Motta in March.
Kolo Muani Extends Juventus Stay
More good news for Juve supporters - French forward Randal Kolo Muani will continue wearing the famous black and white stripes. Comolli confirmed they've reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to extend his loan for the Club World Cup.
Negotiations are ongoing to keep him at the club beyond the tournament. The forward has made quite an impression since joining in January, netting eight goals in just 18 appearances.
According to Comolli, Kolo Muani has "expressed his desire to continue his adventure in black and white." This attacking consistency could be crucial for Juventus in the upcoming season.
Tudor's tactical approach impressed Comolli long before he joined Juventus. "What impressed me most was the resilience of his team, the physical and mental endurance of those players," he said, referring to Tudor's time at Marseille.
Management Reshuffling Continues
The club is undergoing significant changes in its management structure. Club legend Giorgio Chiellini is returning to take on a strategic role that extends beyond on-field matters.
"He will have a strategic role. It will not only be a role focused on the field. He will also act outside," Comolli explained. "He will be a key figure in the commercial field as well."
Juventus is also in the market for a new sporting director to replace Cristiano Giuntoli and a new technical director. Comolli emphasized they're taking their time to find the right candidates for these crucial positions.
"We want to take the time to choose the right people for these two key positions," Comolli said. "Having two distinct figures becomes very important because modern football is becoming increasingly global and the demands are increasing."
On the competition front, Juventus will kick off their Club World Cup campaign against UAE's Al Ain. They'll then face Morocco's Wydad Casablanca and Premier League champions Manchester City in Group G.
The 53-year-old Comolli brings valuable experience to Juventus, having previously worked with clubs like Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool, Monaco, and Fenerbahçe. His appointment on June 1 signals Juventus's ambition to strengthen their position both domestically and internationally.
